Terms of Service
Last updated: September 24, 2026
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a contract between you and Masoud AHMADI EI, trading as Bikepackia ("Bikepackia", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the Bikepackia website, route planner, mobile app and related services (together, the "Service"), and every purchase of credit. Please read them carefully.
This is version 2026-09-24 of the Terms, permanently published at https://bikepackia.com/terms/2026-09-24. A French version, the Conditions générales de vente, is published at https://bikepackia.com/cgv/2026-09-24. If you are a consumer living in France, the French version governs, and it prevails over this translation if the two ever differ.

Accepting these terms
By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Every purchase of credit is made under the version of the Terms you accept at checkout, and we keep a record of which version that was. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live to create an account or buy credit.
The service
Bikepackia helps you plan multi-day bikepacking trips. You describe a trip in plain language, and the Service drafts a route, splits it into day stages, and pins points of interest along the way. You can also build and edit routes by hand on the map.
The route suggestions are AI-assisted and generated for convenience only. They are not guaranteed to be safe, legal, accurate, current, or suitable for you, your equipment, or the conditions on the ground. The AI does not create route geometry — it interprets your requirements. Route geometry comes from third-party routing providers (such as BRouter) or deterministic fallbacks, and inherits the limitations of that underlying map and routing data.
We may change the Service for good reason (security, legal compliance, improvement), at no cost to you. If a change significantly reduces your access to or use of the AI features, we will tell you in advance by email, and you can ask us to refund the unused balance of the credit you bought. If we decide to shut the Service down, we will tell you by email at least 30 days in advance, and you can ask us to refund the unused balance of the credit you bought (see “Refunds”).
Accounts
You can use much of the Service without an account. Some features — Mec, the AI route partner, saved routes, preferences, and the credit wallet — require one. Authentication is provided by our identity partner, Clerk.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use. The information you provide must be accurate and kept up to date.
Credits
Planning on the map, routing, day stages, stops and GPX export are free. Credit pays only for AI requests: replies from Mec, web searches Mec runs while answering, and small AI tasks run for you, such as naming a conversation. Your balance is shown in euros on the Credits tab of your dashboard, with every movement in and out of it.
- How credit is consumed — each AI request deducts credit in proportion to the model usage it takes, at a rate that includes our margin. A short answer costs less than planning a whole multi-day trip. Each deduction is listed in your activity history.
- Purchased credit never expires. It stays in your wallet until you use it.
- Welcome credit — every new account receives €2 of credit when it first signs in. It is a free promotional grant: it never expires, but it has no cash value, cannot be refunded or exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred.
- Credit is personal. It is tied to your account and cannot be transferred, sold or given to another account.
- Changes to the rate — we may change the rate at which AI requests consume credit. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before any increase in the rate applied to credit you have already bought takes effect. If you do not accept it, you can ask us before that date to refund the unused balance of the credit you bought.
Buying credit
Credit is sold in prepaid packs, each paid for once; nothing renews or charges you automatically. The packs and their prices are shown on the Credits tab before you pay. A pack is sold at face value: the euro amount you pay is the euro amount of credit you receive.
Prices are in euros. TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI.
Payment is taken by our payment provider, Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. The contract is formed when your payment is confirmed, and the credit is added to your wallet as soon as the payment goes through.
Your right of withdrawal
As a consumer, you normally have 14 days from a purchase to withdraw from it without giving a reason.
Credit is supplied the moment your payment goes through. At checkout you therefore expressly ask us to start supplying the credit immediately, before the 14-day period ends, and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once supply has begun (French Consumer Code, article L221-28 13°). Because the credit is added to your wallet as soon as the payment is confirmed, the right of withdrawal ends once supply has begun, provided you gave that request and acknowledgement at checkout; we confirm both to you in writing after your purchase.
If supply has not begun — for example, the credit never reached your wallet — you may still withdraw within 14 days of your purchase by sending us an unambiguous statement at contact@bikepackia.com or by post to the address above. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to.

Refunds
There is no self-service refund. Where these Terms or the law give you a refund, email us at contact@bikepackia.com from the address on your account; we handle every request by hand and refund to the payment method you used.
Only credit you bought can be refunded, and only the part you have not used. The welcome credit is never refunded.
You can ask for a refund of your unused purchased credit when you delete your account, when we announce that the Service is shutting down, when we close your account, when we announce an increase in the consumption rate that you do not accept, when a change to the Service significantly reduces your access to the AI features, or when we notify you that this contract is being transferred (see “Transfer of this contract”). Your statutory rights — including the legal guarantee of conformity — are not affected.
Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing contact@bikepackia.com. Before we delete it, you can ask us to refund the unused balance of the credit you bought; the welcome credit is not refunded. We keep the records of your purchases that accounting and tax law require.
Transfer of this contract
We may transfer this contract, including your credit balance, to another company that takes over the Bikepackia business. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before any transfer. If you object, tell us at contact@bikepackia.com before the transfer takes effect and we will refund the unused balance of the credit you bought.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law or regulation.
- Plan, encourage, or facilitate trespass, riding on prohibited land, or any other illegal activity.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or circumvent the rate limits or security of the Service.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its output except as expressly permitted.
- Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, malicious, or that you do not have the right to share.
Your route content & the licence you grant us
You retain ownership of the briefs, route data, coordinates, notes, and other content you submit ("Your Content").
To operate the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, reproduce, and transmit Your Content for the sole purpose of providing and improving the Service to you — for example, generating routes, saving them to your account, and exporting GPX files. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or close your account, except for copies retained as required by law or held in routine backups for a limited period.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and original content, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not transfer any ownership to you.
"Bikepackia" and associated logos are our marks. You may not use them without our prior written permission.
Third-party map & routing data and attribution
The Service relies on third-party map, elevation, and routing data, including OpenStreetMap data and routing providers such as BRouter. That data is provided by its respective owners under their own licences and terms.
You agree to comply with any attribution requirements and usage restrictions of those providers. That data describes the world as mapped by others, and it can be incomplete or out of date.
Safety disclaimer — ride at your own risk
Bikepacking is inherently risky. Routes suggested by the Service may be inaccurate, out of date, impassable, unsafe, or illegal to ride.
Before and during any ride, you are responsible for checking every route against current real-world conditions: traffic and road laws, access rights and private land, trail and surface conditions, closures, weather, daylight, your fitness, and your equipment. Do not rely on the Service for navigation in an emergency.
A generated route is a suggestion, not an instruction or a guarantee of safety. Always carry appropriate navigation, communication, and safety equipment, and use your own judgement. If a route looks wrong, unsafe, or illegal, do not ride it.
Conformity and legal guarantees
We supply the Service as described in these Terms. As a consumer, you benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services under the French Consumer Code, and from any other rights the law gives you; nothing in these Terms limits them.
Route suggestions are drafts based on third-party map data and your requirements. We do not promise that a route, stage or point of interest is accurate, open, safe or legal to ride on a given day — that is why you must check it before you ride (see “Safety disclaimer”).
French law prescribes the wording of the box below, which sets out how the legal guarantees work (Consumer Code, art. D. 211-3). It is reproduced in French, as published.
1° Le professionnel refuse de mettre le contenu numérique ou le service numérique en conformité ;
2° La mise en conformité du contenu numérique ou du service numérique est retardée de manière injustifiée ;
3° La mise en conformité du contenu numérique ou du service numérique ne peut intervenir sans frais imposés au consommateur ;
4° La mise en conformité du contenu numérique ou du service numérique occasionne un inconvénient majeur pour le consommateur ;
Liability
We are liable, under the general law, for damage you suffer as a direct result of our failure to perform our obligations under these Terms.
We are not liable to the extent that the failure or damage is caused by you — including by riding a route without checking it as described in “Safety disclaimer” — and we are not liable where it is caused by the unforeseeable and insurmountable act of a third party, or by force majeure.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury, for our gross negligence or wilful misconduct, for fraud, or under your statutory guarantees.
If you use the Service as a business rather than as a consumer, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Your responsibility
You are responsible, under the general law, for damage caused to us or to others by your breach of these Terms, by Your Content that you were not entitled to share, or by your violation of any law or third-party rights.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time (see “Deleting your account”). We may suspend or close your account if you seriously breach these Terms — for example, by abusing or attacking the Service — or if the law requires it; unless the law or the breach prevents it, we will tell you why. In every case you can ask us to refund the unused balance of the credit you bought, and our message will tell you how.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, liability, and refunds owed to you — continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. Each version is published at its own permanent address, and a new version applies only to purchases made after it is published: credit you have already bought stays governed by the version you accepted when you bought it, except for a change to the consumption rate, which we announce by email before it takes effect (see “Credits”).
For material changes to how you may use the Service, we will tell you by email before they take effect.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of the place where you lived when the contract was concluded or when the event causing the damage occurred.
If something goes wrong, write to us first at contact@bikepackia.com — most problems are solved faster that way.
